Deer Rut

We were driving to South Lakes Wild Animal park on a nice day & glancing left we saw a herd of Fallow Deer at Dallam Tower Park in Cumbria during their rutting season. A couple of the stags had been ousted & slowly drifted away from the herd, at one point crossing the river. Fortunately they were easily shootable from the roadside & I managed to lean on the wall & grad the shots below. One of the Stags conveniently posed in fron of an old gnarled tree to give a good composition & add a bit of context to the shot.
