20:20 Cricket

Friday night was 20:20 night when two local cricket clubs met for a twenty over thrash. I captured the first innings of the match, the light was dipping a little for the second innings even at ISO2000. The images shown below were taken with a Canon EOS 5D4 and 100-400 lens.

Fitness Shoot

A recent shoot was of bodybuilder Paul Coote at Body Temple gym in Rossendale. The brief was to capture some shots of Paul using the equipment, some staged images and also a range of shots showing the sponsor’s attire. The gym, as usual, was quite dark and had wall to wall mirrors which didn’t help,…

Blackpool Airshow

This was a first visit to the Blackpool Airshow and we opted for the Monday rather than Sunday to keep away from the crowds. Both days were really very windy although quite bright causing some cancellations. The best viewpoint appeared to be the Central Pier as the aircraft performed between the Central and North Piers…

Clitheroe Grand Prix

Cycling returned to Clitheroe after a ten year absence and it offered another opportunity to get the camera out and do something new to me. The Grand Prix is a challenging 900m course around the centre of the town – up the slow incline of Moor Lane and Castle st, then a swift descent down…

The Gym

A couple of hours at the Gym resulted in the following shots amongst others. Tried to go for a gritty look to them. Lit by one Softbox and 1 brolly set back to just lift the shadows. My son, Mark Proctor is the subject – 1 week after competingĀ in his first ‘natural’ competition in Adelaide,…

Clitheroe RUFC vs West Park RUFC

I called in at the local Rugby Union Club on Saturday to grab some actions shots of a sport that I haven’t shot before. The weather was fairly decent for photography although I still had to shoot at 640-1000 ISO to get shutter speeds up in the range that I needed them to freeze the…

Red Arrows

This summer I attended the Southport Airshow again and got there early enough to see the Red Arrows in action, not easy when a one hour trip takes four hours! The day was fairly bright and the cloud was reasonable high too, which allowed the Red Arrows team to perform their full routine rather than…
